Sabiha Gökçen

Sabiha Gökçen was born on 22 March 1913 to Mustafa İzzet Bey and Hayriye Hanım as the sixth child in Bursa.

 

Following the death of his parents, he was adopted by Atatürk who visited Bursa in 1925 and was given the surname “Gökçen”.

 

Sabiha Gökçen studied at Çankaya Primary School and İstanbul Üsküdar Girls’ College. In 1935, he entered Turkish Aeronautical Association’s Turkish Bird Civil Aviation School.

 

Gokcen was sent to Crimea, Russia with 7 male students and completed high-glider training.

 

In 1936, he entered the Eskişehir Military Air School, where he was awarded the title of ın Women’s War Pilot Ok, the world’s first na Woman War Pilot “. In 1937, he was awarded the Murassa Medal pilot Honor 9 ği for being the first woman pilot of Turkish Aeronautical Association.

 

Gokcen, who had a Balkan tour with his plane as a guest of the Balkan states in 1938, was appointed as the headmaster of the Turkish Aeronautical Association. He continued this duty successfully until 1955.

 

Sabiha Gokcen, who has been flying with 22 different light bomber and acrobatic aircrafts throughout his life, won the International Aviation Federation Gold Medal in 1991.

 

Sabiha Gökçen, who was chosen as one of the 20 aviators who wrote his name in world aviation history in 1996, became the first woman aviator to have been awarded this award.

Nene Hatun

Nene Hatun was born in 1857 in the town of Çeperler in the Pasinler district of Erzurum. During the War of Independence, Nene Hatun, who was in Erzurum, worked for the struggle of motherland by leaving her young child, who is 3 years old at home, in order to defend the Aziziye bastion here. She was 20 when she did that.

When he was 98 years old, he died of pneumonia and was buried in his saint in which he struggled.

Prof. Dr. Tansu Çiller

In 1978 he assisted Professor and his titles. He continued his academic career at various universities including Boğaziçi University Department of Economics. Dr. Tansu Çiller entered the True Path Party in November 1990 and entered politics.

 

Following the election of DYP to the General Administrative Council, he served as the Deputy Chairman of the DYP.

 

He was the Minister of State responsible for the economy in the government of Prime Minister Demirel.

 

After Prime Minister Demirel was elected as President, he was elected as the DYP Chairman on 13 June 1993 with the highest number of votes at the DYP extraordinary congress. Dr. Tansu Ciller became the first woman prime minister of the Republic of Turkey. (14.06.1993 – 06.03.1996)

Sabiha Bengütaş

” I was the first female student in the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts. It was 1921 and at that time in this department there were only three male students.

I prefer to render what I see, and that in the simplest form. I do not copy nature when I render what I see; I add my personal point of view. I have an extraordinary love of nature. I generally work in landscape because it is not possible to express nature in sculpture. Therefore, I satisfy my appetite for nature in painting.

From the standpoint of my temperament, I am not classical or modern. Essentially, style is not in question. What is important is whether artistic values are present or not. The great artists considered to be “modern” worked in classical modes for many years. With regard to the formation of “schools” of art, however many artists there are, there are that many theories. But are not emotion and truthfulness the essential base and foundation of all of them?

Adile Naşit

Adile Nashid’s life is linked to the childhood theater. Because the Turkish father was Nashit Özcan’s theater director and Amalia’s Armenian-born actress. Fatma Bacı

Kara Fatma (Fatma Seher Erden) was born in Erzurum in 1888. Yarbay Songül Yakut

Songül Yakut was born in 1976 in Malatya. After completing his education life in Malatya, he graduated from Military Academy Military Academy with the rank of lieutenant in 1997.

AFİFE JALE

Afife Jale was born in 1902 in Kadiköy, Istanbul. His childhood dreams were always theater. That was the year when Muslim women were forbidden to go on stage. Despite this ban in 1918, Darülbedai (City Theater) to enter the test even entered the opened.

On November 10, 1918, Behire, Memduha, Beyza, Refika and Afife were recruited as interns. Refika started to work as a prompter and she became the first Muslim Turkish woman to work behind the scenes. The others didn’t get on the stage, he left the theater. Afife has taken part in all rehearsals over a year, preparing himself for the stage.

 

In 1920, Darülbedayi staged Hüseyin Suat’s play “Patches” at the Apollon Theater (now Reks Cinema) in Kadıköy. Eliza Benemencian, the daughter of Emel, played a role in this game. And Afife Jale was chosen for this role. For the first time he appeared on the stage with his role as Emel and a nickname.

Hafız Selman İzbeli
