My native village – Velyka Krucha

Velyka Krucha is one of the biggest villages in Pyriatyn District, Poltava Region, Ukraine. It is situated on the River Udai.

Velyka Krucha has a long and interesting histiry.Many outstanding people lived there. It is a birthplace of Nadia Durova – the first female-officer of Kutuzov’s Army. Besides, Mykola Boholiubov – a famous mathematician went to school in Velyka Krucha. We have a museum corner devoted to him at our school.

There are two cosy hotels, an art museum, some monuments, a school, a post office and a camping in my village.

My school is not big. It is in the centre of my village. We have  two Computer Rooms, a library and a canteen. My classroom is big and light. We have English and Ukrainian lessons there. Behind school we have a sport ground and a football field. In autumn and spring we do sports here.

Velyka Krucha is famous for the first brawery with a restaurant in Ukraine. Tourists like Velyka Krucha very much! They like to drink beer and have a rest near the river. Espessially in summer my country is very crowded because of “Velyka Krucha Fest”.
