My First day

I remember stepping on to the grounds of CIS, Anjola welcomed me into the class and Kika showed me around the school, it was quite fun meeting new people and new faces. Everyone in my class thought that I had an interesting accent, when ever I said something to a person who doesn’t know me they would always ask where I am from and I would tell them my country ( Zimbabwe). The first period that we did was Mental Maths, well they gave me book 1 and I thought it was very easy without realizing that it was the easiest book of all the Mental Maths books, later on, I could not find my Mental Maths book so the Teacher (Mrs. Obadele) gave me book 3 so that is when I realized that the first book was the easiest. At first I found it very difficult to understand the teachers instructions and I also found it extremely hard to communicate with other students because we could not understand each other; eventually I was able to understand everyone perfectly.

Sports day

Oh how I love athletics, on sports day we did athletics and the people I raced with where no match for me I was first position and I won my ever first medal, GOLD. I was so happy that I won a Medal that day, my parents were very proud of me. Also on sports day we did the matching band and my house came first position (Jacaranda) on the other hand, Sycamore was the house that won the main thing the Sports and I was really happy for them. I really loved sports day.

Swimming gala

I don’t like swimming but swimming gala was quite fun although I did not win any medal the day was still good for me. Sycamore was the house that won the swimming challenge overall.

Year 6

On my first day of school in year 6 I got a little lost and I finally found my class, even though I already knew the people it was great to see their faces again. There was a new buddy his name is Samuel John Terblanche; most people just call him Sam.T for short. At first I thought that Sam was a girl because of his long hair, he is very friendly, funny and sometimes serious and oh did I forget to mention that some of the times Sam is confused. We first introduced ourselves to our new teacher (Mr.Fasanmoye) and Sam. When I was in year 5 I thought that year 6 was very difficult but it is very fun, however if you don’t do your homework all the time you will not be good friends with the teachers.

Diversity day

Diversity day is the celebration of other countries and their culture, It is a very great and unique way of showing good respect to other peoples cultures and country. In year 5 we did England and we sang the national anthem of the country:

God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen!

[Verse 2:]
O Lord our God arise,
Scatter our* enemies,
And make them fall!
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all!

[Verse 3:]
Not in this land alone,
But be God’s mercies known,
From shore to shore!
Lord make the nations see,
That men should brothers be,
And form one family,
The wide world ov’er

[Verse 4:]
From every latent foe,
From the assasins blow,
God save the Queen!
O’er her thine arm extend,
For Britain’s sake defend,
Our mother, prince, and friend,
God save the Queen!

[Verse 5:]
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour,
Long may she reign!
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen!

[**Verse 6:]
Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the Queen

I was really happy to learn something new.

Sports day

Once again sports day is an event that students participate in different sports but in CIS we only do athletics.

During sports day I won 2 bronze medals and I was very happy and proud even though I was aiming for a silver.

Swimming gala

This time on swimming gala I was happy that I was able to get a medal, I won a bronze and when I was walking I was walking very proudly.

Diversity day

During year 6’s diversity day we celebrated the country named GHANA. Ghana is a very tiny country located in west Africa and it was the first ever western African country to gain independence on March 6 1957. We said the national pledge of Ghana:

I promise on my honor

to be faithful and loyal to Ghana my motherland.

I pledge myself to the service of Ghana

with all my strength and with all my heart.

I promise to hold in high esteem our heritage,

won for us through the blood and toil of our fathers;

and I pledge myself in all things

to uphold and defend the good name of Ghana.

So help me God.

I was a bit disappointed that my Mama could not make but I still had fun.

African studies project

The Explore Africa project is a booklet about a particular country the weather, the music, the popular people and many more contents. You have to work as a group in order to achieve your goal, the project is not hard nor is it easy, you just have to follow the instructions.

In Topic we were supposed to make a 3D model of the heart and the water cycle. I have to say that I was very proud of my work and I knew I put in my best short. My mama was the one who helped with both of my projects honestly, these where the best projects I have ever made.
