Introduction

I remember my first day at C.I.S: as I entered the class, I found it filled with strangers that in the end, turned out to be my year long classmates. I had just relocated from Paris back to Lagos. Although on my first day I was a little bit shaky, after about a week, I knew everyone’s names and was happily thriving in 4A (taught by Ms. Ajimuda and Miss. Chiamaka). I really missed my pals back at EIB: Victor Hugo School, but when life moves on, you just have to roll with it. 

Making Friends

One of the first person to talk to me was Kamal Saliu. At that time in Year 4, there was a mix in classes, 4C joined 4A to form a whole class until 4C finally got a teacher. Meanwhile on the friends list, Justyn Ovbiagele and Favour Maduforo became my friends later on in Year 5. But in year 4, I was basically friendless. The closest person to a friend in Year 4 was Kamal (honestly, that was very hard to even type out).

Year 4

My Year 4 was so action filled and ecstatic! It was the begining of my journey throughout the C.I.S community. As I stated earlier, 4C was stuck in 4A till they found a teacher, which fortunately, came not a long while after I arrived on the show. Ms. Ajimuda was always a very fun teacher. But boy was she strict! Through all the commotion and the scenes passing by month after month, term after term, I came out being one of the best students in Year 4. I would have received the Highest Achiever Award, but… I wasn’t around during 1st term, so I couldn’t get the award. But I didn’t worry, because I had the next year and the year after that to sit up.  

Year 5

The following year (Year 5A), I strutted into class and met some old and new faces, staring blankly at me as I greeted my new teachers (Miss. Animasaun, Miss. Desola and Ms. Umoru), dropped my bags, and plunked down on a seat on the table right infrnt of class (I like to be called a lot on questions). I had no idea what was awaiting me in the next two terms, but I was ready to show Year 5 what I inside of me. About 7 months later, I realized that we were going to be picked to be the next prefects in Year 6, so I needed to focus and learn harder. However, for a few weeks, my homework levels flounted down. By the time the prefects were picked,

I wasn’t chosen. But I was happy that I was moving on to a new year with a new attitude and character.

Year 6

During the 2017 summer vacation, I had and exam coming up in February. It was Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja! And guess what…… I passed my exam! My parents were so freaking happy about it, that my they threw me a big go away party! Not like they hated me and wanted me out…. but they really love me and want the best for me. I suppose Year 6 isn’t soooo bad. It’s actually very funny; we have lots of talks, we laugh together, what more would we expect from each other? Unlike my nightmares of Year 6, teachers screaming your head off, children being followed by a least 3 teachers…brrrrr.

Achievements

I have been able to study ratio and proportion, percentages, transforming persuasive texts to speeches; using figurative language in personification poems. I have also learnt the difference between osmosis and diffusion. During the African Studies assembly, I learnt how to slow down and say my lines properly. And as for the Key Stage 2 production, I’ve learnt that I can’t always get what I want (even though I really, really want to).  

What my friends think of me

Aderinsola: You are smart and kind. You are very good at communicating with other students.

Alexander: Mr Exact. You’re very smart and funny but you are sometimes very rude. I hope to see you in the future.

Michael: I think you are a very intelligent, smart boy and I think you will do well in the future. Good luck!

Tianna: Joel, you are a very good friend and you like to bring bright ideas and I’ll miss you for that and other things! Farewell!

Oluwatimilein: Mr Perfectionist! You’re very smart and funny and you also always prove your point.

Uri: You are very funny and I hope to see you in the future.

AbdulHakeem: You’re very cool and you’re a very funny guy; I hope to see you in the future, plus, you’re very smart.

Bilal: Joel, you’re a very funny boy and you’re very smart but sometimes you can be annoying, although you’re a good classmate.

Najaah: I have known you since year 4! All I remember is a boisterous and funny person who used to talk a lot! It’s a shame how I wouldn’t see you in Year 7! Hope you wouldn’t flabberghast all the people in Loyola! Have a happy time in Year 7!  

Conclusion

Well, my time in C.I.S has been great
