TED talks are 8-18 minutes long. That’s for a reason. Classes are 90 minutes long. That’s not reasonable! – Break up your class!!

Powerpoint is not the main issue. You are.

Be prepared. Technology will fail. Your students might fail. But you don’t have to.

Engage your audience. They are the ones who decide whether you’re hot or not. Figure out who they are and what they are looking for. Excite them. Provoke them.

Knowledge is ‘old school’. Inspire. Ignite. Provoke.

Do you know why you are giving this presentation? You do? Then tell your audience why it’s relevant and what it relates to and connects with.

Watch videos of great presenters. Then video yourself. Where can you improve?

A good lecture is like theater. If you are reading from notes, then give the audience the notes and go find another job.

Treat every lecture like it’s the one that’s going to change your life. It just might.
