פרק ח’

Hashem told me that He will give us the land, the people and the king of Ai.  Hashem  has helped us until now, but now He told us to make an ambush.  Finally, because we helped we get some of the rewards.

I chose 30,000 people to ambush Ai and I sent them to hide west of the city at night.  I wonder how they will get to the west of the city without getting caught and they have to be absolutely silent.  If they get caught the whole plan will be ruined.  We will go towards Ai and run away.  All the army will chase us and leave the city defenseless.  At the right time the ambush will start burning the city by fire and killing everyone except the king.  When I see the fire, I will raise my javelin and we will attack.  Then the ambush will join us when they are done.  Hashem allowed us to keep the loot.

Then I impaled the king of Ai, like I did to the king of Jericho.  To show to my people that there is no other Hashem, because g-d’s don’t plea for mercy.  When I realized that two other major cities where fighting too, I didn’t know what to say.  We just beat three cities with help from Hashem.
