School Story

• A school is an institution designed to provide learning spaces and learning environments for the teaching of students (or “pupils”) under the direction of teachers.

• Most countries have systems of formal education, which is commonly compulsory. In these systems, students progress through a series of schools.

• The names for these schools vary by country (discussed in the Regional section below) but generally include primary school for young children and secondary school for teenagers who have completed primary education.

• An institution where higher education is taught, is commonly called a university college or university.

A library is a collection of sources of information and similar resources, made accessible to a defined community for reference or borrowing.

It provides physical or digital access to material, and may be a physical building or room, or a virtual space, or both.

A library’s collection can include books, periodicals, newspapers, manuscripts, films, maps, prints, documents, microform, CDs, cassettes, videotapes, DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, e-books, audiobooks, databases, and other formats. Libraries range in size from a few shelves of books to several million items
