NOUN

The dog likes to jump in the field.

A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.
Sally is smart. She makes straight A’s.

An adjective is a describing word.
Jenny has blue eyes.

A preposition is a word that shows how one word relates to another word. These usually name a location.
The cat was laying on the couch.
