Elvis Aaron Presley

Hey,

I am Orel Barak.
I am a sixth grader at Bialik school in Holon.
The artist I chose to write about is “Elvis Aaron Presley” – a great musician and artist of the 50’s.

Elvis was born in 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, to 18-year-old Vernon Elvis Presley and 22-year-old Gladys Love Smith.

He Was born in a modest two-room house built by his father for his birth.

When Elvis was 13, his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee. He worked at various jobs to help support the family: washing cars and selling ice cream.
In his spare time he used to sing and play the guitar.

When Elvis was 22, he bought an estate called Graceland for $ 100,000. The estate consists of two residential floors containing 23 rooms, swimming pool, garden and stables.

In August 1953, Elvis paid Sun Records to record the songs “My Happiness” and “That’s When Your Heartaches Begin” on an amateur disk. The owners of the company heard the songs, and recognized Elvis’s talent.After several years, Elvis’ musical career changed, he became addicted to medicine and eating.
Elvis was declared “King of Rock ‘N’ Roll”.

Elvis met his wife Priscilla in Germany when she was 14. They married in 1967 in Las Vegas. Their daughter married Michael Jackson in 1994 and divorced him in 1996.

Elvis and his wife divorced in 1973. Then Elvis became an isolated person, gaining weight and using his male medication. This had an adverse effect on his mood and behavior on stage.

Elvis’ last appearance was on June 26, 1977. In August. He died at the age of 42. His body was found in his room in the house. His death was apparently the result of excessive use of stimulants, high blood pressure, and overweight.
