Martin Luther King in General
Martin Luther King was born in January 15th 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, and was assassinated in April 4th 1968. Martin Luther was inspired by Gandhi’s movements against violence.Martin Luther King Jr. entered public school at age 5. King attended Booker. T. Washington High School, where he was said to be a precocious student. He skipped both the ninth and eleventh grades, and entered Morehouse College in Atlanta at age 15, in 1944.
King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
“I Have a Dream”
The famos sentence : “I Have a Dream” , means “I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” He said this speech on August 28, 1963. What he talked about in the speech expressed about his desire for the equality between white and colored people that live together.
The speech that Martin Luther King spoke, touched the hearts of many people. The speech brought on many subjects including the equality between all men. What was special about the speech was that Martin Luther King left it aside and spoke from his heart.
