On a clear morning in the forest,
Zahava called her, and so she went –
Until she was very angry.
“Maybe here in a fringe,” she thought soundlessly,
“Let me rest and eat a bit.”
2
Knocked a light knock on the door,
“Is there anything in the house?” Carefully she asked.
And when no one answered, Zahava did not hesitate
And without wasting a moment she entered the house.
The hut was empty, not three plates,
They were lying there on the table.
Delicious soup dishes and showers.
Oh, how wonderful it was.
4
Zehava sat down at the table,
Facing the biggest success.
Taste and – oh, the soup was hot –
And the taste … No, it’s not for her.
Then she turned to the medium plate,
But she too was salty and hot.
She went to the third,
Small and small-and from which she tasted.
It was delicious, unlike the others,
So she ate and ate (it was great) – And nothing was left of the soup.
6
Zehava searched for her in the hut, to catch some rest.
She found three armchairs in the room:
small, medium and large.
The great Zahava was sinking, because it was too empty.
The mediocrity was too difficult, and she got up after a minute.
8
Only the small armchair was perfect: neither soft nor hard.
Zehava sat down and sank into it, seven, tired and exhausted.
And suddenly a blow! She broke!
Or so Zehava said,
“Actually, I’m terribly tired.
And now it seems to me that the first thing,
I’ll look for a place where I can sleep. “
10
She moved into another room and saw in front of her,
Three beds: small, medium and large.
The big one had lots of blankets… More and more.
And Zahava lay there, but it was very hot.
11
In the medium bed there were no blankets and no pillow.
And her gold, which lay within her, was very cold.
And only in the small bed did she feel just wonderful.
And the main thing: It’s not hot for her, it’s not cold and Zahava fell asleep right at her.
12
In the evening the owners of the house returned, carrying bears.
“Someone was here,” he said in his voice.
“Who can this be?” Mother-Duba asked.
“I do not know,” burst Dovi – a child howling,
I only know,
That he ate all the soup for me. “
13
“Someone sat in my chair,” cried Father Dub in an angry voice.
“And on my chair,” she added, “they also sat.”
“And on my chair,” said Dubi-a child, all weeping and sighing,
“My chair broke into pieces.”
15
“Someone in my bed first slept,
Angrily, Daddy-Bear said, growling.
“In my bed, too,
Mama-Duba added in a startled voice.
“And in my bed right now someone is sleeping”
A baby-bear howled in a disgruntled, disgruntled voice.
From the noise and shouts, Zehava awoke with a start-
And saw the three bears right in front of her.
16
Zehava fled from the hut and into the forest she hurried.
“Come back to us, little girl,”
Father-Dov called after her.
“We will not do anything to you,”
Father-Dov continued.
“And we will give you,” added Mother-Duba, “
another good soup.
“And then,” said Bear-Dubi, “we can play together.”
18
But Zahava did not wait,
But ran and fled.
She was sure the three bears were chasing her.
Until at last she returned breathlessly to her house.
And there, Nadra Zehava vowed and swore a faithful oath,
Do not go into houses to which she was not invited!
