Jane Austen was born in 1775. She had six brothers and one dear sister named Cassandra.
Jane Austen’s father was a rector. Her family was respected but had a meager income.
Jane and her sister Cassandra received a great deal of their education at home. During this time, Jane discovered her love of writing. Although Jane Austen’s works were published while she was alive, they did not receive much attention until after her death.
Jane never married, but she had a few known “suitors”. One man proposed marriage to her, but she turned him down, although it would have provided her great stability in life. http://umich.edu/~ece/student_projects/make_your_way/stay.htm
Much of the rest of Jane’s personal life shall remain a mystery. Her sister burned a great deal of her personal letters, perhaps for privacy reasons. What we do have are Jane Austen’s fantastic novels, which are still remarkably witty and humorous today. These works include Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIYiThAyY8s
