How to Produce a Class Play

Choose a play. Obtain a script. Decide how many actors you need.

Hold Auditions – have the students read sections of the text to check for fluency and clearness. CHoose a cast. Make sure they are responsible to come to all the practices and state the day of the production in advance to make sure there are no scheduling problems.

Practice – Start with easy Drama activities. THen read the text together and get to know the story.Explain difficult words.  Have the children choose which parts they prefer. Choose roles and hand out scripts.

Add Scenery. Costumes. Props. Dances. Music. Invitations. Posters.

Dress rehearsal. Show for parents. Show for school.

Follow up – return costumes. THank yous. Pictures/video.
