Here i will expose to the readers about my idea about how to promote the high tech industry in general.

So, the idea based on fact, that happened in late 19th early 20th centuries.

Henry Ford and his one unusual, but quite logical principle of staff motivation, was invented by him.

At one of the factories of Henry Ford, the workers brigade received money while they were resting. It was a repair team, which was responsible for the serviceability and smooth operation of the assembly line. They were paid only for the time they sat in the rest room. Only when the red alarm lamp was lit, signaling the breakdown of the assembly line, the money counter, that paid them money while they were resting, automatically stopped.

A good locksmith repairman is determined not by how quickly he comes to the call or promptly eliminates the malfunction of the unit. The more qualified and responsible the repairman – he has less number of calls. Therefore, Ford rightly believed that the head of the company should pay repairmen not for the challenges, but for their absence.

This was how Henry Ford, the inventor of in-line conveyor production, approached business processes. So it would be interesting how this can happen in a high tech industry in our days!

If a programmer developer will not receive money while he try to fix bugs on his own self made program, and according to Rogue Wave software, 50% of a developer’s time is spent debugging, then probably software products can be more reliable for customers and developer’s skills can be higher. And I have not mentioned the fact that the developer will want to finish his work in record time:) But of course, not forget to pay for their resting.

This was one of the ideas that came to me when I had nothing to write in the book 🙂

Yuri Reznik.
