A long time ago, in a faraway kingdom, there were a queen and a king who were childless. In fact the king, who was afraid about children and their sly face (always being up to not good), got married with a barren queen. In spite of her sadness (yes, she wanted children contrary to her husband – one of arranged wedding’s problems), the couple had a lot of fun. They were making the most of life, taking their time, going with the flow. They lived happily (or almost) during several years.

But a day, what had to occur occurred. The queen, after a long time deploring her situation, decided to adopt a child. She found a beautiful boy, but the king noticed a little girl apart, and quiet. Her name was Aurore. She was different from the others babies, who were always crying when someone  was coming closer. Finally, they chose her, and organised a big feast for her arrival at the castle. All the courtiers were invited for the baptism of the new princess. The royal couple also invited all the fairies of the kingdom (Tinker Bell from the North district, Pimprenelle from the South district, and Flora from the East district). The party was in full swing, everybody complementing the little baby in her white gown. Presents piled up and it was now the turn of the fairies to bestow their gifts. As they were distracted, they forgot their presents  in the taxi-carriage. So they gave gifts and qualities to Aurore. Tinker Bell gave to the girl the intellectual curiosity, Pimprenelle the beauty, and Flora the taste of good things.

But suddenly, a scream resonated. A kind of monster was standing at the castle’s doors.

Last year, she was an intern. But she was given tenure recently and the NFR (National Fairies Registre) had not been updated yet. So the queen didn’t know that a new fairy existed. The shadow raised above the asleep innocent, and said: “ For your ignorance, I am going to punish you. When she will reach  her sixteen birthday, she will prick herself with the needle of a spinning wheel. And fall in a deep sleep for a hundred years”.

All the court was worried about this announced sentence. The king decided to burn all the the materials destinated to spin the wool.

The day before her tragic birthday, Aurore noticed a discreet tower that she hadn’t explored yet. As she was curious, she decided to go in. The atmosphere was kind of gloomy and the darkness was surrounding the stairs.  On the first floor, she saw a strange and shining object. She was attracted to it. Her finger touched the bottom of  the spinning wheel and  she fell on the floor.

The news spread in the whole castle.  The fairies decided to make all the inhabitants fall asleep, to avoid a generational shock when the princess would get up.

A hundred years passed…

One day, after The Manchester versus Ajax football match, a fat and greasy prince, who was looking for a wife (unfortunately, he didn’t find any girl that wanted him). He was drunk because of the 45th beer of the day. He got lost around the castle, and decided to find a bed to relax. What was his surprise when he saw a beautiful girl lying on. In his drunk happiness (too much surely), he was now on the bed, almost kissing the lips of the princess.  The frustration was so big that he couldn’t resist. At the contact between his rough lips and and the woman’s sweet lips, she woke up and slapped violently the prince’s face. She did it so hardly that he fell down.

Aurore observed around her.  The castle’s life was starting again. Twenty minutes after, her parents came to her bedroom. But there were no one. The windows were opened, the wind diving into the radiant curtains. In her deep sleep, Aurore grew up.

Now, she was going to discover the world by herself, feeling the wind in her long blond hair.
