The Poem – As I Grew Older

It was a long time ago.
I have almost forgotten my dream.
But it was there then,
In front of me,
Bright like a sun—
My dream . 

And then the wall rose,
Rose slowly,
Slowly,
Between me and my dream.
Rose slowly,slowly 
Dimming.
Hiding,
The light of my dream.
 

Shadow.
I am black. 

I lie down in the shadow. 
No longer the light of my dream before me , 
Above me. 
Only the thick wall. 
Only the shadow.

My hands! 
My dark hands! 
Break through the wall!
Find my dream! 
Help me to shatter this darkness,
To smash this night,
To break this sahdow 
Into a thousand lights of sun, 
Into a thousand whirling dreams 
Of sun!
 

A letter to the poet

Dear Langston ,

How are you ? I hope you are fine !

I want to say to you that I read your poem – “As I Grew Older” , I like it ,its so great .
I think that the poem  is signifact , it express the situation that every person will cope if he wanted to achieve something , because everything you want , you must first break the wall(the obstacle) to reach it .
However, the poem has a treasure , that we must not give up , we must be determined to achieve our dreams.
In the poem you broke the wall and crossed it and achieved your dream .
I think that the poem also make us realize that there isn’t any difference between person to another, everyone can, and the abilities of the person dont relate to the skin of him or gender…,they are relate only to the determination of the person .
I hope everyone achieve his dream !

My Dream

Everyone of us has a dream that he want to achieve since he was child .

Always , since I was a child I wanted to be a doctor .

In my book every person that care about others , and treat them in a good way , he must has a prize , and of course I want to treat others in a good way and care about them , I want ilnesses to stop , I want to make every disease disappear so thats why I choosed the medical profession .

I think that everyone must struggle to make his dream real , everyone must work hard to achieve his dream , and thats what I will do , I will walk in the correct way until arrive my dream , even if it has some obstacles , I will beat and defeat them .

The dream is the first step to success , so dream and work hard for your dream , and you will achieve it .

I hope everyone do that !!
