As I Grew Older
It was a long time ago.
I have almost forgotten my dream.
But it was there then,
In front of me,
Bright like a sun—
My dream.
And then the wall rose,
Rose slowly,
Slowly,
Between me and my dream.
Rose until it touched the sky—
The wall.
Shadow.
I am black.
I lie down in the shadow.
No longer the light of my dream before me,
Above me.
Only the thick wall.
Only the shadow.
My hands!
My dark hands!
Break through the wall!
Find my dream!
Help me to shatter this darkness,
To smash this night,
To break this shadow
Into a thousand lights of sun,
Into a thousand whirling dreams
Of sun!
I was born in this life I do not know anything I was very small I do not know what is going on around me,because I didnt know that life requires responsibility and challenge.
When I read your poem I like it because it means a lot. Each one has a dream he wants to achieve but sometimes it builit a wall in front of the person it is racism, yes!!!.
Because the community lacks the status of belonging, help, love and a lot of excellence in outer appearance, especially skin color.
Ive done well in achieving your dream in spite of all the difficulties.
My dream is to success is in the psychometric exam so that I can enter to the university in order to reach high ranks.
When I was little I do not have pressure, but so far in front of me and a large wall full of difficulties.I am confident that I will realize my dream and smash all the greenhouses and despite the racism that prevents some success of others as you did.
