Once upon a time there was a beautiful parrot with colourful wings and a gold beak. He lived in a pirate’s ship.  He was the best friend of the fiercest pirate in the whole world. They were happy and they were travelling all the time because they were looking for new adventures and treasures.

One day they reached a remote island. ‘I think there is a treasure here’ said the pirate. ‘Treasure, treasure’ repeated the Rainbow Parrot.

They found the treasure in an ancient temple hidden in the wild island jungle.  They opened the treasure box and they saw colourful precious stones like emeralds, rubbies, sapphires and diamonds.

‘They are so beautiful’ said the parrot. ‘I want all of them for my wings!

I think I will hide them’… and so he did.

The next day the pirate was sad. ‘Where is my treasure?’ he asked.

‘I have it but I won’t share it with you’ said the parrot. ‘I want to use the precious stones for my wings.  I want to be the most beautiful parrot in the universe!’

The pirate was furious and put the parrot in a cage.

‘Stay there until you decide to share the treasure’ said the pirate.

The days went by and the parrot was all alone without his pirate friend.

‘I don’t want to be without friends. I will give the treasure back’ thought the parrot

‘I am sorry’ said the parrot to the pirate.

‘Let’s be friends again and share the treasure! I don’t need precious stones if we can’t be together!’

They shared the treasure and they lived happily ever after!
