The trip slaves took from Africa to the Americas was called The Middle Passage. It took about seven weeks to complete.
Africans were rounded up, caught, and put into ships’ holds. http://discoveringbristol.org.uk/slavery/routes/from-africa-to-america/atlantic-crossing/middle-passage/
Ship masters packed as many slaves as possible in any available space on the ships.
The journey was long and very rough on the slaves. Many of them didn’t make to America, and others wish they had perished on the ship.
Once they made it to the Americas, slaves were put up for sale on auction blocks.
