 An extraordinary beautiful young man

Basil Hallward is a painter who painted a portrait for an extraordinary beautiful young man called Dorian gray, Dorian recognized his own beauty for the first time and his portrait very much , Lord Henry friend of Basil Hallward see Dorian and became fascinated on his beauty and became surprise for his picture because it was the most beautiful picture that his friend basil had painted . Lord Henry has a very bad influence over all his friends .

Dorian felt a little afraid why was this stranger having a strong influence on him like this he had known Basil Hallward  for month, But the friendship  between them had not changed him .Dorian admires the way the portrait reflects his beauty. But lord Henry tells him that his beauty will fade with age and one day he would be old and ugly, When Dorian saw the portrait finished he wished that the picture always grew old and he stayed young and would give his soul to stay young .

Dorian in love

Dorian gray falls in love with a beautiful actress and she called Sybil vane she plays Juliet at a little theater .

Dorian invited Henry and basil to see Sybil how she acted but that night she did not play very well, Henry and basil did not like her performance this day and they decided to left the theater ,She was not Juliet but a very bad actress who did not understand shakespear words.

Dorian leaves sibyl

 Dorian invite Sybil to told her that she was bad actress and said to her that she killed his love he push her back and cried “don’t touch me”, Then he turned and left her alone ,and he will never think of her .

At night he arrived to his house and look to the portrait and realize that the mouth look crueler and when he back to his bedroom he found a small mirror he looked at his real face and saw no sign of cruelty .What did it mean? that the painting grow old . So that he himself could remain young. after that he thought of reconciling and getting married to Sybil vane.

When Dorian decided to marry to Sybil Mr. Henry told him that she is dead and swallowed something horrible they use at the theater she killed herself for the love of Dorian but he did not felt that he will be able guilty of her death because the portrait was going to carry his shame.

The portrait is hidden 

Dorian did not want Basil to exhibit the picture because he did not want him to know the secret of it, That it being change about his bad doings so he decided to hide the portrait in a schoolroom dirty and full of dust, Now he felt safe no one would ever look at the horrible thing only he would ever see his shame .

And now what had Dorian to do with  Sybil vane death? there was nothing to be afraid of, Dorian gray had not killed her.

I will show you my soul 

Many years passed and Basil Hallward came to see Dorian gray to inquires about the terrible rumors against him most people suspected that there was something very wrong with Dorian life but only he knew about the portrait . Some nights he would secretly enter the locked room see the portrait and fell more and more in love with his own beauty and more and more interested in the corruption of his own soul.

Basil sees the portrait

Basil hallward see his own work and shocked of it and do not believe that it was his picture there was terrible sings of age and corruption, The face of the painting was seen a face from hell . Dorian said that it is the face of him soul suddenly he felt bad , sad and he decided to kill Basil .

He killed Basil and to get rid the body of him he send a letter for his scientist friend Alan Campbell to destroy the body by using chemicals things.

Why do you look so young

After he killed Basil Dorian decide to change his life to be a good person he admire’s to Henry that he murdering Basil. He discusses this with lord Henry but he convinces him that people cannot change . later Dorian was sure that he could not return and change because there is no hop for him.

Suddenly he realize that he hated his own beauty and throw the mirror on the floor that it was his beauty that had spoiled him , He saw the knife that had killed basil and kill the painter’s work it would kill the past, he picked up the knife and pushed it into the picture.

Finally Dorian killed himself and the servants entered the room they found a portrait hanging on the wall it showed Mr. Dorian gray as they had last seen him young and beautiful ,Lying on the floor was a dead man he had a knife in his heart he was old and horribly ugly ,It was not until they saw his rings that they recognize who the man was.
