One day, there was a Muslim girl. Her name is Mariam. Mariam is tall and slim .She has got brown eyes. She wears hijab. Her teacher’s name is Lima. She has got short blond hair and blue eyes, and she is Cristian. Miss Lima is a math teacher for grade nine.

Mariam loves her school. Everyday she wakes up early to pray. Then, she wears her hijab and the school uniform. Today is her first school day, but unfortunately something unusual happened .

Mariam went to school as she always does .The first class was Math . But wait .. Oh no ! she left her Math book . Mariam was thinking what will she do . She is a good and smart girl . She never forgets her things .

The math lesson was started . Miss Lima asked her students to open their books on page 4 .Miss Lima noticed that Mariam didn’t open her book ,so she came close to her and asked Mariam to stand up and tell her name. She said with some fear ” I am Mariam” . Miss Lima looked carefully at her and asked surprisingly “Why do you cover your hair?” and pointed with her finger to Mariam’s head . Mariam answered “It’s hijab , we as Muslims’ ladies and adults wear hijab”. Miss Lima said “okay, then where is your book ?” Mariam said ”I’m sorry teacher I left my book at home. It’s my first time so, Please forgive me! I’ll never do this again

Miss Lima said loudly and angrily “If you want to apologize ,you have to open your notebook and write I’m sorry Miss Lima. I will never leave my book again (100 times) and bring it to me by tomorrow morning . Mariam nodded her head and said “I will

Next morning, Mariam finished her homework completely and sent it to her teacher .Suddenly, same situation was repeated again in the math class but this time  with another  a girl ,her name is Sally and she is Cristian .She left her book and notebook .”Sally! don’t forget your book and your notebook again, my dear” said miss Lima kindly to Sally . Mariam noticed that there is something strange and felt racial discrimination .Miss Lima didn’t punish sally as she did with her

One day, miss Lima was hanging out with her friend Lily . Then ,they went to the shopping center to get some stuff . She noticed Mariam sitting on the side of the road holding some beautiful flowers . Miss Lima quickly went toward Mariam and asked her “Mariam! What are you doing ? Why are you sitting here?” “Hi mis Lima, I’m .. I’m working here. I sell flowers to help my family and poor children who are in need” .. Mariam answered with a warm smile.

A look of admiration appeared om miss Lima’s face and asked “Then, where is your father? Doesn’t he work?”  Mariam replied my father is dead and my mother is very sick and we have no one to help”. Mrs. .Lima was sympathized deeply with her strong, generous student and said to herself how a young girl has such high moral qualities.

Days went on , miss Lima keeps thinking of Mariam ,the innocent, brave angle, and how could she help her .

One week later, Mariam started her day with a parcel . The sender chose to be anonymous ..A parcel with 5000$ .Mariam was very happy with this heavenly gift. It was miss Lima actually.

Miss Lima started to change her beliefs .She recognized deeply that Mariam is a real example of Muslim . She decided to visit Mariam’s home and meet her great mum .Mariam was really grateful to her teacher’s visit and to the new relation between them .Miss Lima asked Mariam’s family to know more and more about Islam . It must be a great religion that leads people to live with complete love , respect and tolerance .

Mariam always wishes deeply from the bottom of her heart that her Teacher will be a Muslim one day.
