Rainy love
A Short Story
by team number two
Kate Ball kept an eye on the ripped gun in her hands and felt sad.
She walked over to the window and reflected on her derelict surroundings. She had always hated creepy New York with its noisy, narrow nooks. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel sad.
Something in the distance caught her eye, or rather someone. In the blink of an eye she saw the figure of Andrew Randall. Andrew was a predatory monster with handsome eyes and greasy hands.
Kate gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a violent, mean, whiskey drinker with big eyes and skinny hands. Her friends saw her as an anxious, angry angel. Once, she had even brought a fresh old lady back from the brink of death.
But not even a violent person who had once brought a fresh old lady back from the brink of death, was prepared for what Andrew had in store today.
The rain hammered like chatting dogs, making Kate shocked.
As Kate stepped outside and Andrew came closer, she could see the misty glint in his eye.
Andrew glared with all the wrath of 1788 stupid moaning mice. He said, in hushed tones, “I hate you and I want love.” He wanted to cry his eyes out at that moment.
Kate looked back, even more shocked and still fingering the ripped gun. “Andrew, I love you,” she replied. It seems that they see eye to eye in their relationship to each other.
They looked at each other with a sight for sore eyes, like two silent, smoggy snakes sitting at a very brave funeral, which had trance music playing in the background and two arrogant uncles crying to the beat.
Kate studied Andrew’s handsome eyes and greasy hands. Eventually, she took a deep breath. “I’m sorry,” began Kate in apologetic tones, “but I don’t feel the same way, and I never will. I just don’t hate you Andrew.”
Andrew turned a blind eye to her words and looked worried, his emotions raw like a huge, hissing hat.
Kate could actually hear Andrew’s emotions shatter into 9476 pieces. Then the predatory monster hurried away into the distance.
Not even a glass of whiskey would calm Kate’s nerves tonight.
