Bell understood school, she read the books, got 100 on her tests and quizzes but she never understood the proper way to write an email. The beast was never any help because he did not understand it either. Bell felt there was one person and one person only who would understand writing emails and that was Mrs. Potts. But before she even went to Mrs. Potts she went straight for the books.
While Bell was reading and reading, she couldn’t find much on writing emails. They mostly only stated that you needed to sign your name and that was about it. Bell needed to know how to write a proper email. She wanted the world to now that she could do anything and the last thing she needed to do was write a proper email.
Bell went looking for Mrs.Potts but couldn’t find her anywhere. She asked Chip, Beast, and mostly everyone in the castle. No one knew where she was. Bell looked outside, inside, yelled for her in the tower, and couldn’t spot her. There was one place Bell did not look and that was well of course the Library. She would have never guessed Mrs. Potts was in there. So she walked into the library and found Mrs. Potts sitting at a computer just waiting for her. Mrs.Potts said “Look here darling, I am going to teach you how to write your email and that will be it. I gotta get Chip to bed soon.” Bell was smiling ear to ear saying “Thank you, thank you!” Mrs. Potts then states “Well sit down Bell, we got a lot to do.”
Bell ended up sitting down. Opened up her email and just stared blankly at the screen. Mrs. Potts told Bell to write an email on how she thinks it should be sent properly. So Bell just gave it a try and did what she felt was proper.
Dear Mr.Beast,
I have been wanting to ask what was for dinner. Are we having grey stuff, I know it’s delicious. Will it just be you and I or will we have guests as well?
Love always,
Bell
After reading the email, Mrs. Potts started to jump around on the keyboard, deleting, adding, spacing, and making sure it made sense. Once finished her email now looked like this:
Good Afternoon Mr.Beast,
How are you today? I was just wondering what we were having for dinner and if we would be having the grey stuff because I know it’s delicious. Would it just be you and I for dinner or will we have guests? Can I invite Papa and Philip as well?
Sincerely,
Bell
Bell looked at the email and back at Mrs. Potts waiting on an explanation on to what was wrong with her original email.
Mrs.Potts looked at Bell and said “When writing a professional email you always state Good Morning or Good Afternoon, give a little body info, and at the end always say sincerely and never love”. Bell looked at Mrs. Potts with an understanding look and said so my first email was just too personal for like a friend and the re-write was better for a teacher. Mrs. Potts shakes her head yes and goes “I think she understands now, but I must get Chip to bed”. Mrs. Potts left Bell alone to her thoughts and understandings of how to write a professional email.
