To educators:
This lesson is geared towards Kindergarten.
In this unit, students will learn about shapes and the different qualities that all shapes have. They will learn that all shapes are different and be able to describe why one shape is different from the others. They will learn some new vocabulary throughout the book such as circle, square, rectangle, oval, triangle, sides, edges, corners, etc. Learning about different shapes can help students become more confident in their learning.
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- identify circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, and ovals
- describe the qualities of a particular shape
- draw shapes
- model the shapes using play-doh
