Gatorade was made by Dr. Robert Cade and Dr. Dana Shires at the University of Florida. It was originally created for athletes, but now non-athletes are beginning to drink gatorade. It’s supposed to rehydrate, but also replace the carbohydrates, salts, vitamins, and minerals that are lost during perspiration.

These are the ingredients found in gatorade that regular water doesn’t have. Chloride, Sodium, and Potassium are found in gatorade which are electrolytes. Electrolytes are salt minerals that conduct electricity and balance body fluids. These electrolytes are essential for your daily living abilities; that is why gatorade is better than water when you are wanting to refuel.

Gatorade is better for your body if you are an athlete to refuel your body of the electrolytes you lose during any athletics you are involved in. Water is good for refueling your body after working in the yard or getting over heated. Water does not have the electrolytes Gatorade has to replace the ones you have lost while doing a physical activity.
