My meaningful day:

Elisheva Atlas

When I succeed I feel that I had a meaningful day. As a teacher, helping my students and knowing that I had an impact on their day, makes my day meaningful. I want to help my students succeed and learn, when I accomplished that I feel good about myself and about the day that I had.

My meaningful day includes the way I feel at home after work. I need to be with my family and my community. I love to help out in the community and that can make my day even more meaningful. If I am with my children, meet up with friends or help out people in need then I can feel that my day had a purpose.

I agree with the main idea of the poem. I feel that every day is important and we should inspire others and help one another. For me, a day that I was sick or didn’t have the energy to do much was a day that feels lost or wasted. I love helping others and taking care of my family and of myself. I agree with the idea of the poem, we should help and inspire others, although I also feel that we should take care of ourselves and make sure that we feel good and meaningful.

Rinat Turgeman:

my meaningful day:

As a working teacher and homeroom teacher, I try to have a meaningful moment in every class I go into, at least one moment in a lesson. sometimes it could be hard because classrooms today are full of 30-40 students that you need to pay close attention to, in a very short amount of time and you also need to teach. I found out that if I won’t find a way to have at least one meaningful moment in every class or at least once a day, my job will be very exhausting and I will wear myself out very fast.

To me, a meaningful moment is a moment when a student shares something personal with me, it shows me that they feel close to me and that they can trust me. when a student tells me he understands whatever it is I explain during the lesson and when we have a good conversation and talk about values, I feel very meaningful.

The same thing in my house whenever I am with my husband and children I try to have meaningful conversations with leading questions and not just ‘how was your day?’.                 whenever I can see someone else but myself, but in fact, this is not an act of pure altruism, the fact that it makes me feel good about myself helps me “count my day”.

I agree with the main idea of the poem, I think that nowadays when communities are less common, it’s more important that each individual will see the other and try to reach out to him. I’m not saying that the individual should take everything upon himself but one should not forget his environment and help out even with a small deed such as a kind look, a smile, or a good word.
