Boy and bee
by Asen Raztsvetnikov
-Knock Knock! Where did she hide?
Hey, light-winged bee!
-Who knocks on the gate?…
Get out of here, boy!
-Please don’t bring me back:
let me see your house!
-Look, sweet boy,
but remember I have a sting!
-Hey, dark-headed bee,
who gives you these cakes?
– I knead them myself
from flower pollen.
-Oh, bee with golden clothes,
who sent you this honey?
-My mother, boy,
wakes me up with a bell
and with his bowl of gold
I fly over the fields,
from grove to grove,
from flower to pollen,
from flowerbed to bowl,
from meadow to harbor –
so with a song line by line
I collect pollen and honey.
