Compatibility and compliance are two important factors in the execution of any ERP system in the association. Both of them form an essential part of the concept of ERP system integration. The thing is that the Enterprise Resource Planning solution must integrate with the organization’s current information technology infrastructure. Any solution which requests massive upgrades is not at all welcome. After all, the ERP framework is to be deployed for the organization and not the other way round.
Any association which is preparing to deploy an ERP solution must already be having at least an entry-level data technology infrastructure in place. This would be for the core production and communication strategy of the association for example even the internal e-mail system would be counted as base infrastructure. All the inventory keeping, production monitoring solutions, etc are the base level information technology architecture.
As the ERP system software solution is being deployed, it would have to interact with these arrangements which are as of now being utilized. Unless the ERP solution is able to interface with the base infrastructure, there is not much point in the whole movement of the deployment of the ERP system. They are supposed to work as one solution and not as two separate ERP solutions with no ability to communicate with each other. This mastery to interface with each other in a seamless method is called compatibility.
Proper compatibility is the key to the success of any ERP system implementation because it is the be-all and end-all of the ERP system integration. Unless the ERP system is able to integrate with the current infrastructure, it would not be able to observe what is going on. This means that the business management would still remain in the dark about the operations of the business at a micro-level. With suitable ERP system integration, the management can keep an eye on every element of the workflow.
Moreover, the deficiency of appropriate ERP system integration would mean that the data would have to be manually swapped between the current infrastructure and the ERP system. This causes a number of troubles because data particularly if the data is not being appropriately exchanged between the two solutions. Loss or mutilation of data at the time of export would mean that a lot of difficulties would occur and the organization may even have to suffer plenty of losses.
The developers of CRM systems and ERP software packages go the extra mile to ensure that the maximum possible degree of ERP system integration is achieved but it would not always be the case out of the box. In order to ensure appropriate ERP system integration, it is a must that the corporation must do proper testing before deployment
