The doses of Tapentadol are available in several strengths. However, the recommended and standard dose of the analgesic is Tapentadol 100mg. It is also marked in two formulations. The Tapentadol ER and Tapentadol IR. The ER is the extended release formulation of the analgesic. The action of the analgesic lasts for 12 hours and taken be taken twice with a dose interval of 12 to 14 hours. On the other hand the Tapentadol IR is the immediate release formulation that works for 5 to 6 hours and can be administered 3 to 4 times a day. While taking Tapentadol analgesic the factors to consider are-
- It should be taken by mouth orally
- The maximum dose in a day is 3 to 4 times a day
- Breaking and crushing of the tablet is not advisable
- One should not take the analgesic for more than three weeks continuously
Nucynta warning and precautions
Just like any medication, there are certain factors that should be taken care of while administering the analgesic. The use of the Tapentadol dose is simple and does not requires any special attention or care. Some of the warnings and precautions that one should be aware of while taking Tapentadol are-
- It is not advisable for pregnant and lactating women. Anyone planning to get pregnant should avoid the use of Nucynta.
- The administration of Nucynta with other medication is not advised
- People with kidney, liver and heart disorder should refrain the use of Nucynta without consulting a doctor.
- Anyone above the age of 65 years and below 17 years should avoid the use of the analgesic.

The Nucynta is very tolerant with low scope of experiencing side effects. Some of the common adverse effects of Tapentadol are-
