Method-1

  • Go to File and select Utilities. Click Rebuild Data.
  • Click OK when the Backup Company File message appears.
  • Wait and see if the QuickBooks Not Responding warning still appears.
  • For the Rebuild has completed message, click OK.

 

Method-2

  • Open QuickBooks Desktop and go to the File menu.
  • Click Open or Restore Company.
  • Select the Open company file option and click Next.
  • Browse for the data file and click Open.
  • When you see the Move the file message, follow the instructions.
  • Grab the information shown in Update company file to new version.
  • Select Update Now and follow the instructions.
  • Click Yes to the message “You are about to open a company file using a newer version of QuickBooks. Do you want to continue?”
  • Copy the created backup and look for .qbw files.
