Do you know what a grassland looks like. It is a piece of land full of grass. It is also flat with a some hills. it is a beautiful place to see. it is a little empty though.

There are an absolute ton of animals in the grasslands. There are lions,zebras,hawks,horses,Prairie dogs,antelopes,kangaroos,and gazelles. The grasslands are completely full of animals. There are mainly herbivores in the grasslands. there are some carnivores that survive by eating on the herbivores.

There are also plants in the grasslands. There are milk weeds,sweet grass,normal grass, trees,shrubs,and flowers. The herbivores eat these plants for food. they have to be careful though, the milkweed has a poisonous substance in it. The grasslands need plants to keep the herbivores alive so the carnivores can survive. There are only a small amount trees so there are is a ton of space.

the climate is important to an ecosystem so the animals know how to adapt. In the summer, it is 113 fahrenheit(45 celsius). In the winter, it is -99 fahrenheit(-45 celsius). It is very warm in summer and very cold in winter. It is hard for animals to adapt.

The grasslands is a really amazing ecosystem. the grasslands are a little dangerous because of the carnivores. But the herbivores won’t  hurt you. The grasslands is amazing . Will you go there?
