Prefazione

La mattina del 24 settembre 2021 mi sono imbarcato sul Volo SU6017 diretto a Mosca in partenza da San Pietroburgo dove mi trovavo per la nascita di mio nipote Thomas il figlio di Cristian (il mio secondogenito) e di sua moglie Kristina.

Dopo tanti anni si stava per realizzarere uno dei mie sogni nel cassetto:

“Fotografare la Piazza Rossa”.

Chi avrebbe mai immaginato di avere un giorno un nipote Italo-Russo, quindi i sogni vanno coltivati perché aiutano a vivere meglio e sopratutto non costano nulla.

Thomas mi ha fatto ringiovanire ed è grazie a lui se oggi mi sono rimesso in discussione e, nonostante l’età e i vari problemi di salute, sono pronto per una nuova avventura con lo spirito di sempre che, da qualche anno, si era un pò assopito.

Grazie nipotino mio !!!

Dall’Aeroporto di Mosca con un Taxi in un’ora circa si arriva a pochi passi dalla Piazza Rossa.

L’adrenalina sale al pensiero che tra pochi minuti sarò di fronte a qualcosa di veramente speciale, una piazza vista molte volte attraverso immagini di reportage (testimone di tanti eventi storici) contornata da edifici che da un punto di vista architettonico sono unici nel loro genere.

Con la mia inseparabile Nikon Z50 al collo inizio questa bella avventura.

Ho raccolto in pochi scatti quello che mi ha emozionato di questa Città (avendo solo poche ore a disposizione) e spero che attraverso queste immagini anche voi, amici appassionati di fotografia, possiate emozionarvi per la bellezza suggestiva che trasmettono questi monumenti edificati durante il millennio scorso.

Preface

On the morning of September 24, 2021 I boarded Flight SU6017 bound for Moscow departing from St. Petersburg where I was for the birth of my nephew Thomas the son of Cristian (my second son) and his wife Kristina.

After so many years one of my secret dreams was about to come true:

“Photographing the Red Square”.

Who would have imagined one day having an Italian-Russian nephew, then dreams must be cultivated because they help to live better and above all they cost nothing.

Thomas made me rejuvenate and it is thanks to him that today I questioned myself and, despite my age and various health problems, I am ready for a new adventure with the same spirit that, for some years, we had been a little dozing.

Thanks my nephew !!!

From Moscow Airport with a taxi in about an hour you will arrive a few steps from the Red Square.

The adrenaline rises at the thought that in a few minutes I will be in front of something really special, a square seen many times through reportage images (witness of many historical events) surrounded by buildings that from an architectural point of view are unique in their kind. .

With my inseparable Nikon Z50 around my neck I start this beautiful adventure.

I have collected in a few shots what excited me about this city (having only a few hours available) and I hope that through these images you too, friends passionate about photography, will be able to get excited by the suggestive beauty that these monuments built during the last millennium transmit.

Alle ore 19:00 molto affaticato, ma completamente soddisfatto di aver portato a termine questa avventura entusiasmante e irripetibile, a malincuore ho dovuto chiamare un Taxi che dalla Piazza del Teatro Bolshoi mi ha portato all’aeroporto Sheremetyevo.

Con qualche ora di ritardo mi sono imbarcato sul Volo N4147 diretto da Mosca a San Pietroburgo e sono arrivato all’Aeroporto Pulkovo poco dopo la mezzanotte.

Solo a questo punto ho tirato un sospiro di sollievo perchè ero di nuovo al sicuro a pochi metri dalla casa del mio nipotino Thomas e dei suoi genitori.

Porterò per sempre nel mio cuore un ricordo indelebile di una esperienza che mi ha arricchito profondamente dal punto di vista culturale.

Grazie Thomas (mio piccolo Zar) devo a te tutta la gratitudine per avermi dato la forza per realizzare questo sogno.

At 7:00 pm very tired, but completely satisfied with having completed this exciting and unrepeatable adventure, I reluctantly had to call a taxi that from the Bolshoi Theater Square took me to Sheremetyevo airport.
A few hours late I boarded Flight N4147 bound for Moscow to St. Petersburg and arrived at Pulkovo Airport shortly after midnight.
Only at this point did I breathe a sigh of relief because I was safe again a few meters from the home of my nephew Thomas and his parents.
I will always carry in my heart an indelible memory of an experience that has profoundly enriched me from a cultural point of view.
Thank you Thomas (my little Tsar) I owe you all the gratitude for giving me the strength to make this dream come true.
