CORONAVIRUS MATHEMATICAL MODELING
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, which affected all over the world in 2020,
In order to detect and take measures to prevent the spread of the disease, a certain number of “PCR” test is performed on human.
Daily R0 values are formed according to the number of new cases. These values are for a Covid-19 patient. shows how many people the person has infected this disease.
The graphs below show the number of tests performed by days, the number of new cases and the transmission coefficient (R0) of this disease:As the number of tests performed increases, the number of new Covid-19 cases detected also increases. When the R0 value reaches 1.09, additional measures will be taken to prevent the spread of the disease.
What do you think should be the number of PCR tests per day in order to take additional measures?
NOTE: In determining the R0 value, the route of transmission, incubation time, contact risk, density and duration are
many factors are at play. These factors are not taken into account in the example solution.TEST SAYISI:Number of tests

In the study conducted to examine the rate of transmission of the virus in case of vaccine administration, it was assumed that 20% (Figure 1a, 1b) and 50% (Figure 2a, 2b) of the population were vaccinated. It has been reported that if 20% of the population is vaccinated, even if the basic rules are followed, the number of people susceptible to the disease will increase and the disease will continue to spread accordingly. It was determined that if 50% of the individuals susceptible to the disease were vaccinated, the disease could be taken under control in a short time by following the basic rules and restrictions (Figure 2b). As a result, it was concluded that the vaccine expected to be developed against COVID-19 would be effective on the disease, but could not stop the epidemic on its own. In the study, it was emphasized that in addition to adequate vaccination, protective measures should continue to overcome the epidemic MUHAMMED ALİ ERZİNCAN SEYHAN DANİŞMENT GAZİ ANADOLU LİSESİ
