The first step is to go to www.ourboox.com, and sign in with your e-mail and a password. This takes a few seconds.
2
Give your book a title. If you are a decisive person, this will only take you a few seconds. And not to worry, you can change the title afterwards. I wanted to call this book “Out of Africa” but there is apparently another book with the very same name. So I just changed it.
4
The next step is to create a book. This takes just a second or two.
The square books are more fun so I suggest you choose this format (the one on the left). Square books can incorporate text (in any language), pictures (jpeg, png, gif).
This takes just another second or two gone. We have plenty of time.
6
The editor will open. It’s set at ‘default’ which means that you can go ahead and type anything in any language.
If you are stuck, how about this:
My name is __________.
I was born in ________.
I am a ______.
8
Or how about this:
Once upon a time, there was a princess with no arms named ______________.
artwork: Rotem Omri
9
One day she saw a _____ walking near the castle. She liked it so much that she wanted it for her own. But alas, it belonged to ______ the ______.
11
The princess went crying to her Dad (who of course was the _____). And so on…
12
Remember to save your masterpiece (blue button on the bottom right).
Now open a new page (green button on the bottom right) and click on the artwork button (the text button is always the default). Click on the ‘add image’ and drag and drop a picture (square pictures work better).
13
Now click the ‘cover and info’ tab at the top and upload your book cover in the same way (you can use the same picture you’ve just uploaded). Press save, click on the “Publish Book” (bottom of the page in blue typing), and presto, you have a book.
What did I tell you? How long did that take? Less than three minutes, I hope.
14
I had ten seconds left, so I added a frog. I think that every good book needs one.
