I don’t know why
I’m just a fly

A singing sow, a mellow cow,

A clapping seal

On the collar of a mouse

purpose
to explain
Why I am not a
Butterfly
Or ancient tortoise.

Someday, I know
When cold winds blow
I shall grow old
(So I’ve been told)

The angel sings
And then draws nigh
